This set of the French Revolution was written by Thomas Carlyle, a Scottish writer (1795-1881) and this set is really special. It was published in 1898 by Thomas Y Crowell & Co. NY and is covered in sienna colored leather, gilded writing and with a red gross grain ribbon bookmark. The leather is a little worn, especially on the spines but is otherwise in good condition. The pages are still creamy in color and feel. The spine is sturdy and the pages are all intact. There is no writing inside. Vol. 1 has 361 pages and Vol. II has 435. They are 7 x 4.75".
Makes a wonderful gift for a book lover or history buff.
