Originally published in 1836, this 1873 version of "Sketches by Boz" is not Charles Dickens most famous works but was written when he was a young man. This version was changed somewhat, by Dickens in 1850, as he was not happy with the immaturity of it.

It is a big book, 8.5 x 5.5 x 2.25" and 577 pages. It has the Victorian style cover, hardback with marbled paper and leather on the spine and corners. At 145 years old, it has wear on the edges and the spine is frayed some at the top but it's still beautiful, I call it "well loved". The pages are loosening from the spine in the center of the book and 2 pages of illustrations at page 224 that have pulled away from the spine and the edges all around are slightly ratty- the other illustration pages still have their tissue paper and are fine. This book would look so nice on a book shelf with it's green, maroon and gilded spine.

The illustrations are by George Cruikshank.

How much is a custom mermaid?

It depends on the size and the work involved. Custom mermaids start at $50.

I saw an item like this on EBay for less. Can you match the price?

No.

Can you hold an item until I get paid?

No. I have done this before, taken the item out of inventory and then the person never bought. This causes me to have to pay to re-list the item and miss out on other potential sales. Please do not ask me to do this.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, I do!
