Godey's Lady's Books were compilations of the years magazines, in this one 1859. It has in it patterns, literature, illustrations, poetry and more. This one has the patterns for "Gold Dollar Purses", the music to the "Snow-Drop Waltz", dresses that can be purchased, embroidery patterns, decor, stories such as "Neglected Flowers", architecture and house plans, recipes, education such as chemistry, literary notices (books by mail), "chit chat about fashion", novelties, puzzles and riddles, plays, health, gardening and I could go on and on.
It has 568 pages and is in small print, so it is a lot of info about 1858!!
It is 9.5 x 6.5 x 2.75", a big book! The red and gold leather cover is quite worn on the edges. The front cover with the first 3 pages attached has come off, the pages could be reglued to fix it, but I will let the new owner decide on that. The pages are only slightly yellowed and are still soft. This is a really special antique book.

When will I receive my refund for a damaged product.
I will happily refund for anything damaged during shipping. However, I must receive pictures of the damage, the box and the wrapping. I will refund you as soon as I receive this in order to file a claim with USPS or Shipsurance.
How much is a custom mermaid?
It depends on the size and the work involved. Custom mermaids start at $50.
I saw an item like this on EBay for less. Can you match the price?
No.
Can you hold an item until I get paid?
No. I have done this before, taken the item out of inventory and then the person never bought. This causes me to have to pay to re-list the item and miss out on other potential sales. Please do not ask me to do this.
