This bottle made me wish I could afford a professional photographer. It is SO hard to photograph glass!! So all I knew about this bottle was that a service man brought it from Japan right after the war ended. So after doing a LOT of research I found out that it was made by Dai Nippon Beer company in Japan. They also made soft drinks which came in the dark green bottles like this one. The name of the soda was Mitsuya as indicated by the 3 arrows embossed next to the circle with the center dot indicating Dai Nippon. Mitsuya was what they called cider, but was the taste of like a sprite mixed with ginger ale. They made soda under Dai Nippon from 1907 to 1949, so I am not sure of the exact date of this bottle.
Some of the embossing has worn away and can only be seen with a magnifying glass under the right light. On the bottom of the bottle embossed in letters nearly a half inch tall is BREWERY CO. LTD. The seam goes up between the Co. and Ltd. The B is nearly all worn off. There is a Japanese character embossed right below the neck with what appears as an I next to it. On the left of the circle with dot, something was embossed there but all I can make out is an E and maybe a D to the left of that. Then there are the 3 arrows to the right of the dot circle. It has a crown closure.
There is a nick on the edge of the lip and some scratching on the bottom. It is 11.25" tall and the bottom is 3" in diameter.
Payment must be recieved prior to shipping. I fulfill your order within 3 business days of receiving your order M-F. If for some reason, I am unable to ship with in 3 business days, I will let you know so you can decide if it can wait, however, I strive never to do that. I use standard shipping costs for different size items. In reality it may be more to ship or may be a little less. What you see is what you get & I believe my prices reflect that and are worth it. Whatever shipping cost is on the item is what you pay. With the cost of different boxes etc. it just makes sense to use a flat fee for certain items. I don't add the cost of mailing products to the item, I depend on my shipping costs to include that. I have had instances when my international shipping has been way off, and if that is the case, I do refund that part of the shipping cost. I insure EVERYTHING. That adds to the cost of shipping .
