Sorry, this item has sold.

I believe this beauty is from the 1920's. She has the look of an Anita Doll but I am not sure who the maker is. She is 29" tall, has a composition head and neck. Her head is in good condition with original paint. She has a little spottiness on her forhead and nose and chin areas. Her hair is glued on, she has 2 braids wrapped in a circle around her ears (ala Carrie Fisher in Star Wars)! There are no cracks or crazing. Her cloth body is stuffed and her undergarments are sewn on to her. I believe her skirt is an underskirt and it has quite a few stains. She definitely needs to be cleaned. Her pantaloons match her skirt with lace around the bottom and black boots have been sewn on her.

Boudoir dolls became popular after designer Paul Poiret's models carried them during a 1910 Parisian Fashion Show. By the 1920s they were a craze and there were many makers. On jazzageclub.com there are some interesting pics of people during that time, with their boudoir dolls. They were put on beds and carried to events.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will I receive my refund for a damaged product.

I will happily refund for anything damaged during shipping. However, I must receive pictures of the damage, the box and the wrapping. I will refund you as soon as I receive this in order to file a claim with USPS or Shipsurance.

How much is a custom mermaid?

It depends on the size and the work involved. Custom mermaids start at $50.

I saw an item like this on EBay for less. Can you match the price?

No.

Can you hold an item until I get paid?

No. I have done this before, taken the item out of inventory and then the person never bought. This causes me to have to pay to re-list the item and miss out on other potential sales. Please do not ask me to do this.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, I do!
