Silliness
This is a 6" X 6" tile made by Herford Tile for Florian Tile in Saxmundham England in the late 60's or early 70's. It is based upon a limerick by Edward Lear (1812-1888) who was an artist, illustrator, musician, author and poet, known for his literary nonsense.
This limerick goes:
There was an Old Man with a nose,
Who said, "If you choose to suppose,
That my nose is too long, you are certainly wrong
That remarkable Man with a nose.
This is a rare find here and highly collectible. I have recently lowered the price on both Lear tiles.

I bought two of these Edward Lear tiles from Mermaid Memoirs. The shipping was fast and very carefully done. Tiles arrived safely. I could not believe I found these tiles!! My dad has a bunch of them. I remember growing up with them so vividly. I can't wait to add to his collection this Christmas!
