I always do a quick review of the books I sell but this book- I couldn't put it down. Though written in 1945, it feels just as useful and needed today. LOOK magazine was noticing a growing wave of intolerance and prejudice during the wartime conditions. It talks about the violation of rights of Americans who are minorities in this country and the economic, social and religious reasons behind discrimination and possible means of bettering and creating a more tolerant atmosphere. As it says in the forward, "May this book serve to bring again to the attention of all farsighted Americans the sacred dignity of the human being regardless of class or race or place of birth." It has a lot of photographs and is a very important book.
It is 340 pages, 9 7/8 x 6 7/8". It has a faint black mark on the cover, slightly yellowed pages but soft and in good condition. No writing in it, no tears, the spine is in great shape. I do not have the paper jacket for it. Again, it is a first edition 1945 printing.
